An independent, family- and veteran-owned brewery and scratch kitchen in North Peoria, Arizona — pouring craft beer and serving camaraderie since 2013.
Peoria Artisan Brewery & Gastropub is a working brewpub: every beer on the wall is brewed in-house on a 5-barrel, 155-gallon system, with 10 to 14 of our own brews pouring across 20 taps alongside guest taps, a rotating hand-crafted cider, and a house-made non-alcoholic root beer. The Gastropub side of the house turns out a from-scratch menu — including a burger named among the 25 Best Burgers in the Valley by the Arizona Republic — plus a Sunday brunch and a weekday Hoppy Hour. And behind a door most people walk right past, Barley & Smoke hides a speakeasy with a roaring wood-fired oven, hand-crafted cocktails, and a chef-driven seasonal tasting experience.
Who It's For
We're built for the West Valley: families settling in for a long scratch-made dinner, friends comparing notes over a beer flight after work, couples slipping behind the speakeasy door for a date night, and neighbors who simply want a great pint close to home. Walk-ins are always welcome at the Gastropub, where the indoor-outdoor bar opens its garage door to the Arizona weather whenever it cooperates.
Who Builds It
The brewery is owned and run hands-on by Matthew and Kristina Frosch — the couple who started with 31-gallon batches in 2013 — alongside Executive Chef and Co-Owner Michael Mahalick. All three live in Peoria, and you'll usually find one of them in the room. There's no corporate parent and no outside board: just an owner-operator team that brews, cooks, and shakes hands in person, every day.
